2172 & 2173 Questions

I am trying to use your 2172 / 2173 system with a custom cypress semiconductor cy68013A (USB 2.0) chip. If I plug the device directly into the computer, it's recognized as a cypress demo board. If I plug it into your hub system, it get set to something completely different. Any ideas why this should be? Any ideas how I can fix it?
I would like to ask if 2 of these 2172 units can be connected together with fiber cable.
