Problem
What is the operating distance for fiber optic cable (62.5) for ambient temperature -40°C to +85°C
and for ambient temperature 0°C to +70°C using the 2062 repeater?
Solution
The S.I. Tech 2062 repeater is made with industrial temperature parts. We provide a 10dB useable optical power budget on multimode fiber. (Actual
power budget is 13dB) Therefore, across a temperature range between -40°C to +85°C you have a 10 dB budget (3 dB allowed for temp. variations, changes in
attenuation of various parts). Distance will be the same for 0°C to +70°C. The operating distance on one side of the 2062, with multimode optics, is 2 Km.
