What is best way to select a fiber optic product?

Solution

Consult an S. I. Tech Application Engineer or refer to the product/application cross reference guide in the S. I. Tech catalog. Prior to contacting us, obtain the following information about your application:

1) Data speed desired
2) Protocol (Ethernet, Token Ring, etc.)
3) Interface (DB-9, Twinax, ST, SMA, etc.)
4) Distance
5) Computer system(s) (IBM, DEC, HP, etc.)
6) If you have fiber in place, what type of fiber are you using? (Multimode or Single mode)
