Isn't fiber cable immune from electrical problems? How come after it is installed, I still get system knock out once in awhile? Solution Fiber optic cables are immune from electrical problems commonly associated with electrical cables. However, the fiber optic cable must connect into an electrical device. It is this device that is most likely affected by electrical problems such as power surges or lightning strikes. S.I. Tech highly recommends that you use an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) and shielded cabling to protect your equipment. Previous | Next Back to Technical Support |
