S.I. Tech Introduces USB to Serial Fiber Media Converters

S.I. Tech has developed USB to serial fiber media converters, models 2130, 2131,
and 2132 Bit-Driver®. These units allow users to convert USB to RS-232, RS-422,
and RS-485 protocols. Models 2130, 2131, and 2132 are compatible with the fiber interface found
on many S.I.Tech serial data links including:
RS-232: 2005, 2505, 2507, 2617
RS-422: 2106, 2116, 2140, 2866
RS-485: 2110, 2128
Data rates 300bps to 3Mbps dependent on connecting product.
Use of 2130/2131/2132 eliminates the need for serial board installation in computers.
You can go directly from USB to fiber and connect to serial devices with RS232/RS422/RS485 interface at remote
end.
Use of fiber optics communication allows extended distances overcoming USB distance
limitations. Two computers can also be interconnected using 2130 with 2130, 2131 with 2131, or 2132 with 2132 providing
electrical isolation and protecting expensive PCs.
